Gravel Parameterization Schemes and its Regional Assessment on Tibetan Plateau Using RegCM4

چکیده

In this study, the impact of gravel was taken into account in regional climate model version 4.7, which driven by ERA-Interim with a resolution 1.5 km numerical experiment. The parameterization schemes and original soil hydrothermal were used simulations on Tibetan Plateau (TP), respectively. performance two simulating moisture (SM) assessed. Moreover, three areas selected terms distribution content TP to investigate differences internal mechanism between schemes. SM is generally improved compared that simulation effect superior southeastern TP. Except for TP, temporal variations below depth 1.0 m still needs be improved. fractional saturated area (fsat) fraction inundated (fh2osfc) are pivotal variables control important component hydrologic process. There may threshold increase fh2osfc, when fh2osfc lower than value, main increasing reduce surface is, divided input soil. However, higher bottom drainage from water store. will induce decreasing mineral hydraulic conductivity, leads increases, opposite true.

Assessment of the Regional Climate Model Version 3 over the Maritime Continent Using Different Cumulus Parameterization and Land Surface Schemes

This paper describes an assessment of the Regional Climate Model, version 3 (RegCM3), coupled to two land surface schemes: the Biosphere–Atmosphere Transfer System, version 1e (BATS1e), and the Integrated Biosphere Simulator (IBIS). The model’s performance in simulating precipitation over the Maritime Continent was evaluated against the 3-hourly Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Multis...

Land use change and its driving forces on the Tibetan Plateau during 1990 – 2000

Rapid economic development has spurred land use change in China since the Chinese government initiated its economic reform in 1978. Although many papers have analyzed the characteristics of land use change, especially cropland conversion to non-agricultural use affected by economic development in the developed regions of China, relatively less attention has been paid to studying the characteris...

Mass Flux Solution in the Tibetan Plateau Using Mascon Modeling

Mascon modeling is used in this paper to produce the mass flux solutions in the Tibetan Plateau. In the mascon modeling, the pseudo observations and their covariance matrices are derived from the GRACE monthly gravity field models. The sampling density of the pseudo observations is determined based on the eigenvalues of the covariance matrices. In the Tibetan Plateau, the sampling density of pe...

Surface ozone at Nam Co in the inland Tibetan Plateau: variation, synthesis comparison and regional representativeness

Ozone is an important pollutant and greenhouse gas, and tropospheric ozone variations are generally associated with both 15 natural and anthropogenic processes. As one of the most pristine and inaccessible regions in the world, the Tibetan Plateau has been considered as an ideal region for studying processes of the background atmosphere. Due to the vast area of the Tibetan Plateau, sites in the...

Precipitation impacts on vegetation spring phenology on the Tibetan Plateau.

The ongoing changes in vegetation spring phenology in temperate/cold regions are widely attributed to temperature. However, in arid/semiarid ecosystems, the correlation between spring temperature and phenology is much less clear. We test the hypothesis that precipitation plays an important role in the temperature dependency of phenology in arid/semiarid regions. We therefore investigated the in...
